Was Patricia Lupton the victim of one of Toronto’s earliest serial killers?

Hello, I’m Jay Nicoll from Nicoll Investigations and I’m here to tell you about the next episode of Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast, coming this Sunday, August 4th on the unsolved murder of Patricia Lupton.

Toronto in 1959 was still largely a safe city, yet crime was steadily increasing. Particularly violent crime. In this week’s podcast I’ll focus on one murder, the first of a trilogy of episodes over the coming weeks that very well may be connected. That of a young girl, not yet in her teens, and possibly a victim of one of the earliest serial killers in Toronto’s history.

On March 9, 1959 12-year-old Patricia Lupton was abducted and strangled and her body found in Scarborough, after answering an ad for a man who phoned looking for a babysitter.

Patricia’s murder remains unsolved. But was she not even the first victim of a serial killer? Tune in this Sunday, August 4th.
