For all the amazing things we've seen AI do, its emotional consequences are just as interesting. In this episode in our Tech in Med Ed series, we talk with Dr. Pok Man Tang, assistant professor in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia about his recent work looking at loneliness associated with AI use. Dr. Tang's recent paper "No person is an island: Unpacking the work and after-work consequences of interacting with artificial intelligence," in press at the Journal of Applied Psychology, uses four studies to examine loneliness and isolation associated with AI in the workplace. He discusses this paper and his other work as we consider potential consequences for expanding the role of AI in medical education.
