Join us this week where Allison Houseman, a Saskatoon teacher specializing in working with young people with complex needs, discusses her approach to individuals with neurodivergent conditions, including managing communication, behaviour, perioperative expectations.


Allison Houseman is an teacher in the Saskatoon Public School Division who specializes in working with young people with complex needs. She has worked primarily with autistic individuals in specialized programs that support students in developing strategies to assist them in managing challenging behaviour to better enhance their ability to learn communication and life skills. Her passion is to assist new professionals within the field to better equip themselves with what can be expected in a classroom that supports more complex individuals and the skills that they may find useful both in their teaching as well as their personal lives to ensure a healthy balance.
