कभी तेरे नैनों पे लिखा  तो कभी नैनों के मोतियों पे लिखा  कभी तेरे मासूम चेहरे पे लिखा  तो कभी चेहरे की मासूमियत वाली बातों पे लिखा  कभी इश्क़- ए -मिजाजी पे लिखा तेरी  तो कभी इश्क़ - ए-दगाबाजी पे लिखा  कभी ग़ज़ल लिखी कभी गीत लिखा  तो कभी खत-ए-मोहब्बत लिखा

जवानी जब से बहकी थी उसी का नाम लेती थी मोहब्बत प्यास है उसकी यही पैगाम देती थी  मैं मजनूं था मैं रांझा था वो लैला हीर जैसी थी  मेरी चाहत के  ज़ज्बो को मेरा ईमान कहती थी  मगर अब.... जो समझती थी इशारों को इशारों ही इशारों में  भुलाके  उन नज़ारो को मेरा अब दिल दुखाती है  ना कहती है ना सुनती है बड़ी खामोश रहती है  मेरे इश्क़-ए- बहारा में वो तीर-ए-ग़म चलाती है  ज़माना मुझसे कहता है दीवाने क्यूँ तू रोता है  उसे कैसे मैं समझाऊं यही तो प्यार होता है.....

तू कहती थी तेरी ही हूँ मैं  तू कहती थी तेरी  रहूंगी  बगावत भी कर लूँगी जग से  तेरी होने को सब कुछ सहूंगी समंदर की तरहा तू रहना  मैं नदिया सी संग संग बहूँगी दर्द तूने दिया मर मिटा मैं  लोग कहते हैं तू बेगुनाह थी  आखिरी सांस तक तुझको चाहूँ  तू क्या जाने तू मेरा खुदा थी  बेपनाह इश्क़ करता था तुझसे  मेरे जीने की तू ही वज़ह थी
