Set in 1969, the new romcom FLY ME TO THE MOON tells the story of Cole (Channing Tatum), NASA's launch director who works hard to ensure the safety of his men. However, with Russia advancing in the space race , the government hires Kelly Jones (Scarlett Johansson), a marketing maven, in the hopes of garnering public support. As the two grow closer, Kelly soon finds herself challenged with a new task: creating a backup in case the lunar landing doesn't work. In this 1on1, we speak to co-star Jim Rash about the importance of the space race, LGBTQ representation in 1969 and 'sad stories' as inspiration for change.
