Our Editor's Take

The Surviving Sister Wives podcast has grown to be an essential supplementary Sister Wives resource. It's especially helpful for those only now discovering the reality TV show.

The long-running TLC show caused quite a stir when it first came out in 2010. It's not every day that people get to have a close discussion on polygamy. Kody Brown took the concept of an extended family to heart and went and got four wives for himself. That's Meri (1990), Janelle (1993), Christine (1994), and Robyn (2010), otherwise known as the Sister Wives.

Together, they have 18 children, including those from previous relationships. That means there are over two dozen characters to follow, including the grandchildren.

Much appreciation goes out to podcast hosts Corey and Carly for their service. The Surviving Sister Wives podcast makes all this dizzying information easier to digest. Those new to the TV show can rely on this podcast to be something like a cheat sheet. Every new episode focuses on crucial points that viewers might want to explore further. One is how each of the wives keeps their own subunit's individuality despite sharing a husband with three other women. What kind of dynamics work in a polygamist family?

The Surviving Sister Wives podcast is a great companion to the show. Fans can hear Corey and Carly's thoughts on every new episode weekly.
