McGillis is the first male professional hockey player to openly come out as gay. Since retiring from hockey - Brock has become an influential advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Brock has dedicated himself to - To creating equality regardless of sexuality, gender or race while focusing on the language we use and how we can shift it to become more inclusive. To educate people on inclusivity, mental health, self empowerment and non conformity.
