LIFE AFTER HOCKEY PODCAST - EPISODE 5 - CHAD BROWNLEE Chad Brownlee was born in Kelowna, BC & Drafted by the Vancouver Canucks 190th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He played his junior hockey with the Vernon Vipers of BCHL before going on to play 4 years in the NCAA with the Minnesota State Mavericks. He played his professional hockey with Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL in 2007-2008 before hanging up the skates to pursue a music career. In 2010 he released his self-titled debut album & in 2011 he won the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Rising Star Award. Since retiring from hockey, he has released 4 albums - had two JUNO nominations for Country Album of the Year & numerous CCMA Award nominations. Including Male Artist of the Year (2012, 2013, 2017, 2018), Fan’s Choice Award (2017, 2018) & Album of the Year (2016). This past summer, the Nielsen Music study found him to be the 8th-highest played Canadian artist on domestic radio for the first half of 2020, in company with Drake & Justin Bieber.
