Navigating patient trauma is a journey in itself, but as we double down in moments when our own trauma gets triggered, we meet with massive opportunity for both ourselves and our patients!  Many consider it unprofessional to share personal experience in session. I disagree! It’s actually most valuable when a practitioner shares their personal experience, tactfully, as a teaching tool. In this episode we will explore the capacity of trauma to fragment consciousness and create multiple isolated drivers, as well as our inherent capacity to re-unify these fragments into singularity! We’ll look at the healing potential of the patient, as the practitioner resolves their own trauma, and in some cases even shares it. And we’ll discuss how patients can assess the practitioner, to ensure the practitioner’s capacity to support them through their healing journey. I’m grateful to speak about such an intense topic. Creating safe space for our patients is essential. It is the foundation for a trusting and successful therapeutic relationship. This delicate process involves gentleness, honesty, transparency, clear communication, and boundary declaration.  In this episode I discuss crucial elements required to create a therapeutic space that feels safe enough for our patients to unpack their entire life story, and reveal to themselves, longstanding “hidden” trauma.  These elements include: a preliminary discussion of the full treatment program trajectory, expected outcomes, and what the patient can anticipate feeling and experiencing along the way; a transparent discussion about program cost and payment options; clear communication about patient boundaries, relative to language use, body contact, and emotional resilience; and investing extra time and extra presence to ensure that the patient feels safe every step of the way. Health is Multidimensional, It's like a puzzle! We need to be able to see the fractured pieces in a 3D perspective, in order to assimilate the puzzle into a perfect picture! In this episode I explore the reality that physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and electromagnetic levels of the human experience are individual languages overlapping on each other, and how they all need to be addressed simultaneously! The process required to address multiple levels simultaneously, begins with a thorough and complete intake process. I emphasize the essential nature of the intake form, and review my patient intake process. I discuss the use of the intake form as a gateway to access deeper subconscious information and the dangers or repercussions of not doing a thorough intake.
