The 2006 World Cup final will always be remembered as the last time, Zinedine Zidane played for the French national team. The talented footballer was considered one of the best footballers in the world and was part of a Real Madrid team that was so good, no team wanted to get on their wrong side. Now, let’s get back to the 2006 World Cup Final. You see, Zidane’s penalty kick had already seen off Portugal in the Semi-finals to set a mouth-watering clash with Italy in the finals. And with Zidane already announcing that the World Cup would be his last appearance as a footballer, surely it was time for him to bow out in glorious fashion. Or so we thought. Well, it surely was not a happy ending story as the famous French man was shown a red-card for headbutting opposition player, Marco Materazzi on the chest. Ouch that must have hurt pretty bad.
