Amy Marden is the author of The Parts We Lost and founder of Afghan Refugee Resettlement Assistance DMV, a community impact group that resettles Afghan refugees and provides ongoing support and resources. As a military spouse, mom of two, and self-described recovering lawyer, she’s an expert at adapting to the next adventure. Navy life has taken her around the world and has made Amy a true adventurer—and an expert packer. Amy’s prized possession is a taxidermied Tanuki her husband found at a thrift shop in Japan for 1000 yen.
