Our Editor's Take

Raising Good Humans is a podcast that explores the joys and challenges of parenting. Dr. Aliza Pressman is the creator of the show. She has over 15 years of experience working as a developmental psychologist. Pressman began the podcast to help parents by sharing research on child development. Her experience also includes work as a parent educator and assistant clinical professor.

Parenting is often referred to as the best job in the world. It can be amazing, joyful, and full of laughter. But that is not to say that it isn't sometimes overwhelming, stressful, and exhausting. A parent will never have all the answers or know how to handle every situation. With the help of this podcast, the journey can be less overwhelming.

Episodes feature Pressman talking to leading experts about topics relating to parenting. The show aims to help parents set goals and look at the bigger picture regarding raising children. She offers actionable advice on many different parenting issues.

Issues covered include various stages of child development, including toddler years. Listeners can learn about the terrible twos, biting, hitting, and bathtime blues. Other topics include mindful parenting, punishments, time-outs, and consequences.

Each episode is between 20 minutes and an hour long. They are full of stories and advice to help parents understand how to handle all situations. It is one of the best parenting podcasts for new and veteran parents that want to simply raise good humans.
