Cat & Nat are two moms/women trying to not live in the confines that society puts on them. As they debunk the myths, challenge the scripts and give women (and men) the freedom to say f*ck it.
Through BFF conversations that everyone is thinking about but no one is talking about on Tuesdays, guest interviews on Thursdays and non traditional “Sex Fridays”, Cat & Nat take this podcast to a whole new level of f*ck it, inspiring their listeners to find themselves, their true selves. Not the ones sold by motivational speakers but the self that tried daily, sometimes nailing it and sometimes failing it.
Welcome to the brand new season of Cat & Nat Unfiltered, the Podcast!
Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Cat & Nat Unfiltered is a frank podcast about what it's like to be a mom. Longtime best friends Catherine Belknap and Natalie Telfer, both moms, cohost the show. But with episode titles like “Your Vagina Has a Love Language,” this is not a program for family listening. Instead, the show has what they call #momtruths. Those are their candid observations about being a mother.
The two women started Cat & Nat Unfiltered in 2018. They had grown tired of unrealistic depictions of motherhood in traditional media. This was making their work as moms extra difficult and isolating. So they decided to host meetups-sans kids, with wine-in their hometown of Toronto, Canada. The meetups were very popular. With parents wanting more, Cat and Nat developed The Common Parent platform. It is basically a scaled-up version of the Toronto meetups. Part of the platform is the podcast Cat & Nat Unfiltered.
Each day's podcast episode has its purpose. On Tuesdays, Cat and Nat can chat, get caught up, and discuss what's new in parenting and children. On Thursdays, they invite a guest. Comedian Jessi Cruikshank talks about her experiences with motherhood. Dr. Nicholas Westers helps listeners navigate the psychology of self-injury. Author Catherine Schwarzenegger shares her experiences as a little sister. Dr. Lisa Damour talks about teenagers. Psychotherapist Natalie Rose Allen has a frank conversation about disordered eating.
Fridays' episodes are the hosts' favorites, because they get to talk about sex. The cohosts discuss sex clubs, pet peeves, and fantasies. There are frequent guests as well. Erinn and Oliver Hudson chat about infidelity. Jeremie Saunders and Bryde MacLean talk about polyamory. Guests also share their experiences with kinks and orgasms. On this day, podcast listeners send in their stories and questions, which the cohosts discuss at length.
Parents who feel isolated may find Cat & Nat Unfiltered a refreshing listen. The podcast is an irreverent show about being a parent.
