These year-end lists are always a challenge to create because, as you work your way through, everything either clicks perfectly or it doesn’t. In this case, most of it did—though not without some hiccups. Making the Mix Work To make this final set cohesive, I swapped out a couple of remixes for their original versions and dropped one song entirely. Why? Because I didn’t like it when it was released and still don’t. It just didn’t work in the mix. Don’t worry—you won’t miss it. Trust me on this. Overall, I think I’ve put together an excellent representation of the best dance club songs of 2024. You’d be hard-pressed to find a list this comprehensive anywhere else. Ranking Process? Not This Time I know I promised to discuss my process for ranking these songs, but honestly, I don’t have it in me right now. I’ve been in extreme pain all week from an infection on my shin, and the antibiotics the doctor prescribed aren’t working. With the 5-day treatment almost over, I’ll likely need to head to urgent care tomorrow if there’s no improvement. No Blow Your Own Horn This Year On top of that, I’ve spent so much time and energy pulling together these year-end sets that there simply isn’t enough bandwidth left for our annual Blow Your Own Horn series. I know many of you look forward to that tradition—where we bid one final “fuck off” to the year while welcoming the New Year with a bang. Its high-energy nature makes it a fan favorite, but I just can’t make it happen this time. The Future of Party Favorz I’ve also been wrestling with mixed feelings about continuing Party Favorz into another year. Right now, I’m leaning toward keeping it alive—especially since we’re expecting new music from Lady Gaga, Cher, and Madonna. And if Rihanna drops something? That would be EPIC. If I do move forward, big changes are inevitable. The last two years saw a significant drop in donations, which didn’t even scratch the surface of my monthly expenses. If the podcast continues, it will have to rely on a Patreon model. I haven’t ironed out the details yet, but I’ve got some ideas brewing. A New Chapter for the Website Another looming expense is a new website theme. The theme I’ve used for the past 15 years has been a workhorse, but it’s no longer supported by WordPress and throws up quirky issues every time WordPress updates. A new theme will run me about $300 and require a complete redesign. While I’ve taught myself a fair bit of coding over the years, I’m no expert. Thankfully,

This volume features the tracks that defined dance floors worldwide, solidifying 2024 as an exceptional year for club music. A Year of Genre Diversity One of the standout elements of 2024’s dance music scene has been its diversity. While massive EDM anthems reminiscent of the late 2000s and early 2010s still resonate with partygoers, genres like Tech House, Future House, Bass House, Nu Disco, Melodic House, Drum and Bass, and Afro House have firmly staked their claim. While Afro House and Tech House may be nearing their saturation point in some circles, their influence remains strong. Although these genres may not fully penetrate mainstream clubs, they continue to offer breakout hits that leave a lasting impression on dance music enthusiasts. The Rise of Hyper-Infused Beats Since 2023, a fascinating trend in house music has emerged—high-energy tracks with tempos ranging from 138 to 150 BPM. Volume II of the Top Dance Club Songs of 2024 compiles some of the best examples of this trend, including tracks like: "I Like the Way You Kiss Me" by Artemis "(When I'm With You) Free" by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding "Thank You (Not So Bad)" by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike "Pedro" by Raffaella Carrà, Agatino Romero, and Jaxomy These tracks span genres such as House, Techno, Trance, and Hard Dance, but all share the same blazing-fast BPM, making them seamlessly transitionable in any mix. This infusion of hyper-charged beats adds to the eclectic energy of this year’s club scene. The Rich Tapestry of Dance Music Dance music in 2024 is nothing short of a vibrant tapestry, woven from mainstream hits and underground gems. While this series captures the year’s biggest anthems, it’s important to recognize the unsung heroes—the alternative club tracks heard in smaller venues or accidentally tripped on through Spotify and Apple Music’s algorithmic recommendations. For those eager to explore even deeper, the critic’s picks from platforms like Beatport and other reputable online dance music magazines offer a treasure trove of electronic masterpieces that might not make it to mainstream playlists but are just as compelling. Behind the Scenes of Party Favorz The journey to create this year-end series has been a labor of love. The curation process alone took over two weeks, involving meticulous selection, followed by rounds of editing and remixing. It’s always a challenge to balance personal favorites with tracks that have widespread appeal, but our goal is to reflect the collective pulse of dance f...

This annual wrap-up celebrates the biggest songs in dance and club music across all genres, showcasing the tracks that defined the dance floor in 2024. Among the highlights, the newest trend to capture the scene—Afro House—has sparked discussion. However, let’s set the record straight: Afro House is neither new nor always true to its roots. While one standout track in this year’s lineup genuinely fits the genre, much of what is labeled Afro House has been stripped of its African origins, replaced with slowed-down beats (120 BPM) and polished for mainstream appeal. This critique isn’t about quality—many of these tracks are excellent—but longtime House aficionados will recognize the percussive elements as familiar territory. Like Nu Disco before it, Afro House is having its moment. Yet with so many producers relying on the same loops and software, the genre risks burnout before it can truly solidify. Credit is due to Rivo, whose rework of Disclosure’s “You and Me” ignited the trend earlier this year. This stellar remix skyrocketed to become one of the biggest electronic tracks of 2024. John Summit: A Living Legend John Summit continued his meteoric rise this year with the much-hyped “Shiver.” The track showcases his ability to explore new genres while maintaining his signature dark, ethereal, and moody style. At this point, Summit is reaching Avicii-level stardom, but his continued output of bangers suggests he’s handling the pressure with grace. Here’s hoping he finds the balance between delivering hits and taking time for himself. PAWSA: From Underground to Mainstream One of the year's most unexpected breakthroughs was the massive success of PAWSA. Though the London-based DJ has been active since 2014, 2024 was his breakout year. With “Too Cool to Be Careless” and “That Phone Track” dominating the Beatport Top 100 for months, PAWSA’s stripped-down House style became a dancefloor staple. Closing the year with a rework of Adventures of Stevie V’s 1990 classic “Dirty Cash,” he solidified his position at the forefront of modern House music. Viral Revival: Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Mason vs. Princess Superstar Two early-2000s tracks found new life in 2024 thanks to their inclusion in the streaming hit Saltburn. Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dance Floor” and Mason vs. Princess Superstar’s “Perfect (Exceeder)” went viral on TikTok, sparking interest from a new generation of fans. Ellis-Bextor’s 2001 hit and the 2007 mashup both surged in popularity, proving the timelessness of their dance-floor appeal. Pop Meets Dance: Sabrina Carpenter’s Moment

This year, I made it a point to weave in some Tea Dance-style tracks to break up the monotony of the tribal-heavy set. Let’s be honest, a lot of what's been coming out in this space lately is straight-up uninspired — poor mastering, weak vocals, and a glaring lack of creativity compared to the pioneers of the genre. It's like everyone's copy-pasting the same blueprint, trying to force a square peg into a round hole. If you're going to sell your work on Bandcamp for $5 to $6 a pop, step up your game. Stop churning out the same recycled formula. That said, I’ve been leaning more toward Henriq Moraes, who, at the very least, brings solid production values and avoids that annoying high-pitched sound you hear too often these days. His remixes are fresh, varied, and don't feel like the same song on repeat. There are a few other producers I keep my eye on, but they’re not as prolific. Even so, Henriq isn't pumping out new tracks every week, which is how it should be if you want quality. Mor Avrahami continues to bring the heat with his remixes, as does Dirty Disco. These guys know how to keep it fresh and exciting. But let’s not forget the legends still out there touring, remixing, and schooling the next generation. I’m talking about the likes of Danny Verde, Cajjmere Wray, Nick Harvey, and other masters of the craft. Their experience shows in the style, hooks, and embellishments they add to their remixes. These touches are what separate a "meh" track from one that slays. Standout Moments & Must-Listen Tracks Speaking of Danny Verde and Tom Stephan — these two veteran producers joined forces to reimagine Lady Gaga's "Disease," and the result is nothing short of masterful. While there’s no shortage of mediocre (and outright bad) remixes of this track, their darker, moodier approach cuts through the noise. The remix leans into a shadowy, underground vibe, amplifying the song's raw intensity. The undeniable hook pulls you in from the jump and refuses to let go, making their version a clear standout in a sea of forgettable attempts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKE3sIOHH60 On a related note, Nick Harvey recently dropped an entire EP of remixes for "Stand Up" by Suzanne Palmer. This one caught me off guard — not only for the quality but for the names attached. Two standouts are the mixes from Cajjmere Wray and the elusive Eddie Baez. Yes, that Eddie Baez. I didn't even know he was still active in the scene! Both versions are stellar, but I had to roll with Eddie's for nostalgia's sake.

The process of curating this final entry in the series has been anything but smooth—starting and stopping more times than I’d like to admit. Normally, I prefer to have everything in place and finish a set in one go, but the lack of standout releases made this a real challenge. That’s not to say there aren’t any gems in this mix. Quite the opposite—through persistence and digging deep across DJ services, Beatport, and even Spotify, I uncovered tracks that truly move me. And if they move me, I know they’ll bring my followers to the dancefloor. Party Favorz doesn’t stop until the job is done. This set features several updated throwbacks, many of which are making waves on DJ charts, while others may have flown under the radar—until now. As always, Party Favorz is here to bring the best to light. Highlights include: Diplo’s rework of Gala’s ’90s Eurodance anthem "Freed From Desire." David Timothy’s fresh take on Billie Ray Martin’s "Your Loving Arms." Tommy MC’s reimagining of Jody Watley’s ’80s classic "Don’t You Want Me." Stuart Ojelay’s heavenly spin on Danny Tenaglia’s "Music Is the Answer." Stone Van Brooken’s faithful update of Faithless’ "Insomnia." Block & Crown’s transformation of The Fugees’ "Ready or Not" into a House anthem. TLC’s celebratory House remix of their hit "Creep" for CrazySexyCool’s 30th anniversary. Cosmic Dawn’s Afro House remix of Everything But the Girl’s "Missing." Most of these reworks remain true to the original while modernizing them for today’s dancefloors. Exceptions like TLC’s "Creep" lean heavily into reinvention, but it works beautifully. The trend of revamping classics continues with notable remakes, such as: Ava Max’s rendition of "Forever Young." Ku De Ta’s "Dance I Said," sampling Salt-N-Pepa’s "Push It." Alesso & John Alto’s update of Yes’ "Owner of a Lonely Heart." Matt Sassari & Hugel’s faithful revival of Sonique’s "It Feels So Good," featuring a new vocalist. Jax Jones, Azteck, and Norma Jean Martine’s fresh take on the Rihanna riff from Eminem’s "Love the Way You Lie." It seems the trend of revamping tracks from yesteryear—be it from parents’ record collections or early CD libraries—is here to stay. When done right, these reworks breathe new life into the dancefloor. Clocking in at just over three hours, this set blends fresh, new releases with timeless reworks, making it a strong contender for your end-of-year holiday parties. And the fun doesn’t stop here—our Top Dance Songs of the Year set drops in a few weeks,

Pulling inspiration from a mix of genres—NuDisco, Disco House, Tech House, and good old-fashioned House Music—"All About the Bass" is a masterful blend of everything that makes Funky House Music so irresistible. Each track seamlessly transitions into the next, keeping dancers and listeners on their toes with something fresh and unexpected at every turn. I won’t dive too deep into the details of this set because, frankly, the music speaks for itself. As we get closer to the end of the year, I wanted to give everyone a heads-up about what’s in the pipeline between now and then. I’ve got a new Chill Out set I just started working on, but I’ve also got a lot of medical shit this week, so the release may be slightly delayed. We’ll see. That will be followed by our final Club Fusion set of the year—the annual "Jingle Electric", featuring all the hottest Dance Club songs heading into the holidays. After that, we’ll drop our annual "Holiday Edition", which brings HOT Santas and even hotter tribal beats for the circuit boys. Next up, we’ll roll out the "Top Dance Songs of the Year" set, packed with the biggest Dance Club songs that defined 2024. Every hit makes the cut—even the ones we’re not fans of—because if it lit up clubs worldwide, it deserves its spot. Finally, we’ll close out the year with the annual (yes, I’m saying it a lot, but it’s relevant) "Blow Your Own Horn" series. This final set is a mix of the year’s biggest songs and Dance Club classics reworked into a roof-raising style that’ll shake the dancefloor. It’s our final kiss-off to the year while welcoming in the new one—and trust me, it’s gonna be epic! Until the next time...ENJOY! The sheer amount of racism, misogyny, xenophobia, and homophobia spoken loud and clear with Kamala Harris's defeat is staggering. My prediction? Trump will probably last six months to a year before Vance moves to have him replaced under the 25th Amendment. The guy’s a rambling, dementia-addled buffoon, so that shouldn’t be too hard. Project 2025 will start checking off every box on their agenda from day one. Now that SCOTUS has handed the president king-like powers, I wouldn't be shocked if this administration takes over all media and silences others, building its own propaganda machine. NATO will be dissolved, we'll pull out of the Paris Climate Accord, Putin will wipe out Ukraine and start moving on former NATO allies, and China will seize Taiwan. Trump or Vance will undo the Chips and Science Act, which poured nearly a trillion dollars into bringing chip manufacturing back to the U.S. Abortion bans will go nationwide, and with our Senate lost, Justice Thomas and Alito will step down and be replaced with younger ideologues, sealing white nationalist control over the highest court for a generation. LGBTQ rights? Gone. Contraception? Banned. Education will become a luxury, and kids will be working fields once every immigrant, legal or not, is deported. If Trump enacts a 20% tariff on all imports and 60% on anything from China, expect everything — including food — to quadruple in price. And that's just the beginning. There's a religious agenda waiting in the wings, and we’ll see soon enough how that nightmare unfolds. I debated whether to release the latest two volumes of the Throwback series since they were meant as a Victory Dance Party. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t pull the trigger early. There's absolutely nothing to celebrate — unless you're part of the 50% of bigots who are just fine with these fanatics targeting others, at least until it boomerangs back to you. And it will. For now, I’m cutting all unnecessary expenses for this podcast. I’d already planned to make this my final year, but you may see some slowdowns on the website and a loss of translation services as Rick and I figure out our next steps. For now, we’re stuck in this shitshow along with everyone else. If I can keep it together, I’ll continue my regular releases through the end of the year. Until the next time... And this set more than delivers. Bursting at the seams with peak-hour anthems, we’ve packed it with tracks from your favorite divas—old and new—including Kylie, Rihanna, Celine, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney (BITCH), Taylor Swift, Kelly Rowland, Beyoncé, Shakira, Loleatta Holloway, Christina Aguilera, Charli XCX, and Billie Eilish. Believe us, it doesn’t get any realer than this. 11 Days to Protect Our Rights: Why This Election Matters With only 11 days until election day, now is the time for our final message to anyone considering sitting this one out or voting third party. The stakes couldn’t be higher, especially for the LGBTQ community. This election will impact marriage equality, workplace protections, access to PrEP, housing rights, government employment (including military service), and women's reproductive rights like abortion, birth control, IUD, IVF, Mifepristone, the morning after pill, and yes, condoms. It will shape gun control, voting rights, and even the future of free speech. This isn’t hyperbole—the outcome will profoundly impact your everyday life. Hell, Republicans are even going after your porn. Porn Hub has already stopped operating in Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Utah, and Virginia. This includes gay porn, which has been upheld under the First Amendment but has been steadily eroded ever since by SCOTUS. The recent SCOTUS decision in Trump vs. United States grants unprecedented powers to the President, essentially making the office a monarchy. Under another Trump administration, there’s nothing to prevent an assault on our constitutional rights, including due process in our pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. Some might think that voting for Jill Stein, who reappears every four years like a cicada to disrupt elections, is a viable option. This misguided choice effectively hands the election to Trump. Voting for Kamala Harris, on the other hand, ensures your continued freedom to speak out on issues like the Middle East without risking violence or repression—a stark reality we could face if Trump returns to power and enacts martial law. I urge you to vote—vote early or drop off your absentee ballot at your nearest dropbox (not mail), as Rick and I will be doing today. This election is nothing less than a choice between fascism and our open, free society. Our right to live authentically, to speak openly, and to challenge injustice depends on it. Our Republic, our freedoms,

I hadn’t realized just how dominant the Rock Dance influence was during this time, but looking back, it was everywhere. Many tracks from that era didn’t make it into these two volumes, but one that certainly stands out (next to Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone” on Volume 2) is the Jacques Lu Cont Thin White Duke remix of “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers. This song was massive, and you practically couldn’t escape it. This period also marked the rise of another French DJ besides David Guetta: Bob Sinclar. Though he’d been honing his craft since the late '80s, it wasn’t until this era that he seemingly exploded onto the scene with hits like “Love Generation,” “World, Hold On (Children of the Sun),” and “Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now).” His meteoric popularity even led to him headlining one of Hugh Hefner’s parties at the Playboy Mansion. The event was later released as a two-volume set of House and Disco, aimed at the jet-set crowd. David Guetta, of course, is also in the mix here with some of his early work, including Juliet’s “Avalon” and the huge “Love Don’t Let Me Go.” As promised, we replaced the rock version of Roger Sanchez’s “Turn On the Music” with the Axwell Electro House remix, which was the go-to version at the time. Paul Oakenfold (another 90s mainstay) was enjoying renewed success during this era, hitting #1 with “Faster Kill Pussycat,” featuring the incredible vocals of Brittany Murphy (may she rest in peace). For those wondering where this year’s earlier hit “Perfect (Exceeder)” originated — it’s straight from this time period, and we’ve included the Martijn Ten Velden remix, which stays true to the original but is more DJ-friendly. We also have to give major props to Peter Rauhofer (may he rest in peace) for his prolific output during this time. His remixes, which blended Progressive and Electro House, had wide appeal across dance floors. We’ve highlighted his stellar work on “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera, “Killer” by Seal, and “Maneater” by Nelly Furtado — all of which hit #1 on the Dance Club charts. While we wanted to include his remix of the Vanity 6/Prince-penned “Nasty Girl” by Inaya Day, we decided it was a bit too much from one producer. Two DJ duos that went on to achieve massive success are Moto Blanco, represented here with Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” (originally credited as Bobby Blanco), and Freemasons, who shine on Beyoncé’s “Deja Vu” and Faith Evans’ sassy “Mesmerized” — a personal favorite.

This set specifically focuses on 2005-2006. Electro House had already been bubbling up from the underground, but by 2005, we saw the rise of future DJs who would later become household names. People like David Guetta, Axwell, Kaskade, Fedde Le Grande, and Dave Aude, to name a few. This period also brought me back into the scene after having dropped out because the music from 2002-2004 had become too druggy, dark, and frankly, depressing. I just wasn't feeling what Stephane K & Creamer were putting out at the time. It wasn’t until Rick was out of town, and I went to a gay club in Atlanta with my bestie, LeAnn, that I realized the music was shifting. Hearing the Freemasons mix of "Lovin' You More" and "Mesmerized" lit a spark in me, and I knew the landscape was changing—bringing back my excitement for the scene. By this time, the big room stylings of Thunderpuss (Barry Harris and Chris Cox) had come to an end. However, Chris Cox carried on with their big tribal sound, while Victor Calderone, Hex Hector, Tony Moran, and Ralphi Rosario continued topping the Dance Club charts. Peter Rauhofer ventured into darker, progressive sounds—sometimes hitting the mark, other times not—but he was still in high demand, commanding high prices for his shows. If you're craving those memorable hits, Party Favorz has you covered. Check out our Top Dance Songs of 2000-2009 and Top Dance Songs of 1996-1999 sections, where you'll find the biggest chart-toppers in the U.S. For those more into the circuit anthems from this era, head over to our Classic Circuit Anthems section, where a 4-volume set awaits to blow you away. Over the next several years, the production styles of these early 2000s pioneers began to fade, making room for newer DJs like Avicii, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Soul Seekers, Wideboys, Freemasons, Moto Blanco, Seamus Haji, and soon after, Swedish House Mafia, among many others. The following decade was truly an exciting time for the Dance Club scene, with EDM becoming the dominant genre, alongside massive festivals that resembled rock concerts. One thing that didn’t change was the length of the songs. Unlike today’s musical landscape, where dance tracks often clock in at under 4 minutes, DJs back then continued the tradition of long, epic songs, just like their predecessors. I did very little editing here to let listeners experience true club mixes, with full builds and progression, instead of the short, catchy hooks that dominate now. It’s worth noting that while Electro House didn’t completely dominate the ...

This collection features the biggest bangers currently making waves! We kick things off with the fabulous "Finally" by Swedish House Mafia and Alicia Keys. This dream collaboration reimagines the 2001 house classic by Kings of Tomorrow (a.k.a. Sandy Rivera) into a sweeping anthem, showcasing Ms. Keys's incredible vocals. I can’t recall a more unexpected and mesmerizing pairing since David Guetta and Kelly Rowland electrified the dance floor with "When Love Takes Over" back in 2009. Next up is a brand-new track from Canada’s pop princess turned urban queen, Nelly Furtado. After a seven-year hiatus, her collaboration with Tove Lo and SG Lewis delivers an electro banger that seamlessly bridges her earlier work with Timbaland. The singer is in fantastic vocal form and looks as fabulous as ever, while Don Diablo’s searing progressive remix is sure to captivate club-goers. Italian DJ Piero Pirupa, who previously reworked the rock classic "Another Brick in the Wall," returns with a hard-hitting remix of Nirvana’s "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Grunge was always ripe for an EDM makeover, and this remix elevates the original to new heights. Jerome Robins & Karsten Sollors take on Rihanna's classic "Don't Stop the Music," transforming it into a BIG HOUSE tune that’s bound to blow the roof off any venue. Their version does justice to the original while opting out of the MJ "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" chant—frankly, it didn’t need it. Martin Ikin is riding high with his chopped tribute to Beyoncé's "Crazy For You," titled "Crazy 4 U." Paired with "7 Seconds" by James Hype, these tracks highlight the diversity of styles in this set. We also feature sweeping anthems like the elegant "Tears" by John Summit and Paige Cavell, alongside Max Styler's progressive track before closing out with his techno smash, "Addiction." In between all this goodness are some heart-tugging and emotionally uplifting songs you may or may not have heard yet. This shift in the set allows listeners to breathe before transitioning to a harder note. Tracks like "Beautiful & Young" (a Lana Del Rey remake) by Harpoon, "Hold Me" by Freejak, "Wish You Knew" by Carlita, and "My Love 2024" by Alex Wann, Route 94, and Jess Glynne all deserve attention. While some lean towards Afro house, others showcase a more progressive structure, but they all mesh beautifully. Finally, we have the latest from Chappell Roan. I debated including her new track "Hot To Go!" due to the controversy surrounding her recent comments.

Lately, House Music has been crossing over into the mainstream, with the excellent Nic Fanciulli and Robert Courois track "Set Me Free" sitting atop Beatport's Top 100 and trending on many Spotify dance playlists. However, the song that's got us all worked up at Party Favorz is the opening track, "Let's Go" by Jaden Bojsen. This track is ripe for remixes, and while I've seen some floating around, I'm not certain if they're official. I'm calling attention to this song because it channels late '80s and early '90s House Music, perfectly setting the tone for most of this set. I fully expect it to feature on our next Dance Club set (dropping soon), as I want to push it hard. In the meantime, be sure to add it to your Spotify and Apple Music playlists. While this set sticks to our current House floor favorites, there's a good mix of Disco House and even some French House we're really into at the moment, giving it a nice balance. A personal favorite of mine is "Delicious" by Risk Assessment, which lifts the Acid House classic "Theme From S.E.X. Express," slows it down to a slinky 120 BPM, and throws in some classic Deee-lite riffs. If you know, you know. If you don’t — you’ll be into it soon enough. This set has been on heavy rotation in my car because I can’t get enough of it. It just hits all the right notes, and I think even those who aren’t typically fans of our Funky House series will enjoy it. That's all I’ve got for your weekend pleasure. Until next time…ENJOY! Initially, I wasn't certain how mixing in her current releases with her biggest hits from 10, 15 years ago would work so I dropped in several updated bootlegs that stayed true to the originals, while modernizing those songs for today's dance floors. I kept several of the original remixes from the time of their release because they work just as well now as they did when they were originally released. I finally got around to perfecting the remastering of older material to tone down pitchy high ssss you hear in some songs, expanded the dynamics on others that sounded a bit flat and punching up the bass to round it out so it didn't sound too cold like much of the original software used to create the mixes. This is a time-consuming process but with the help of ChatGPT, it made it much easier to be able to fine-tune these settings. I couldn't be happier and plan on deploying some of these techniques in future releases (especially Circuit & Anthems where many of the DJs don't use plugins for a more professional sound). All the remaining big hits like "On A Night Like This," "Spinnig Around," "Slow," "Love At First Sight," "Into the Blue," "The One," and "Breathe" are included here along with many current releases since "Tension" plus rare gems that never charted in the U.S. but had a minor prescence elsewhere. This truly is the Kylie Minogue wet dream all the gay boys have been waiting for. I only hope that I did the Queen justice. Kylie is Australia's biggest-selling artist, with over 80 million albums sold worldwide. She’s considered the "Princess of Pop" behind Madonna, the "Queen of Pop," and is adored by millions of gay men around the globe. Currently, she’s holding a residency at the Venetian in Las Vegas for a series of sold-out shows and has recently signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix for an upcoming documentary about her life. It was a long time coming when Kylie joined Madonna on her "Celebration Tour" for a performance of the iconic Gloria Gaynor classic "I Will Survive" and Kylie's own "Can't Get You Out of My Head." While I can no longer attend concerts, just watching two of my all-time favorite divas perform together brought tears to my eyes. Weird, I know—because I rarely get emotional, especially over artists I worship but treat as any other person in life—but it really hit me hard. Here at Party Favorz, we adore Kylie Minogue and all her achievements, which is why we’re honoring her with her third induction into the Diva Hall of Fame. These two volumes (with Volume II dropping next weekend) are packed with all of Kylie’s biggest hits, along with her current releases and collaborations. The sets feature some original remixes and a few bootlegs, blending her classic tracks with the current music scene. These sets bring Kylie into the 21st century, where old and new complement each other for a seamless tribute like no other. In my last post, I mentioned that downloading these sets would require a $10 donation per volume. While I have the ability to set that up, I just don’t have the time right now because I’m juggling other issues (recently discussed) along with managing this podcast. So, these two volumes—and everything else for the remainder of the year—will remain free for all to enjoy. However, I know that two of you are posting some of these mixes on Mixcloud (yes, I know who you are) and House-Mixes.com, and passing off the work as your own. I really wish you wouldn’t because it hurts my traffic and my ability to sustain this podcast through donations which doesn't even cover my monthly costs. I’m too busy to issue takedown notices, but I’m appealing to your better angels by asking you nicely to stop. As I mentioned earlier, Volume II will drop next weekend. After that, Party Favorz will be back to full capacity. I subscribe to my DJ service in 90-day periods, and I had to cancel it because of money issues. I’m waiting until after the 15th to renew,

This set is structured a bit differently from past efforts. We typically utilize key mixing for our podcasts, allowing for smoother transitions and a more pleasant listening experience. However, in this episode, the keys aligned perfectly, enabling us to load most of the Tea Dance-style tracks upfront before transitioning into the big circuit tribal beats you're accustomed to. Think of it as a slow build to the big room sound. Don't be fooled though, there's fire from the beginning. We have several notable entries, including the Superchumbo remix of the 80s gay anthem classic "Why" by Bronski Beat featuring a guest vocal by Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys. This was released in conjunction with a newly remastered and expanded edition of their queer classic "Age of Consent" album, a coming-of-age album for young queers in the early 80s. That song is quickly followed up by a remake of Madonna's "Into the Groove" by Drew G, surprisingly released around the same time as the Bronski Beat album in the 80s. Drew transforms the original dance groove into a big room scorcher, reimagining the song for late-night circuit audiences. There are countless Madonna remakes, but this version is truly one for the history books. Since we're on 80s throwbacks, Jace M & Toy Armada deliver the unexpected "Heaven Is a Place on Earth" by Belinda Carlisle. A proud LGBTQ+ community supporter and gay icon, Carlisle (of Go-Go's fame) shines in this remix. Jace and Toy's signature big room anthem style turns the giant pop song into a sweeping, hypnotic sing-along that captures the original's spirit. Don't miss it. Of course, we've got a plethora of new material from the diva of the moment, Chappell Roan, as well as Katy Perry, Kesha, Hayla, Anne-Marie, and the always fabulous Kylie Minogue (more on her in a moment). This set also features new and reworked songs from Gen X and Millennial divas like Erin Hamilton (RIP), Miss Suzanne Palmer, Anastacia, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Antoinette Roberson. As you can see, we've packed this set to the gills with old and new favorites that are bound to fuel your workouts for months to come. We had promised to deliver several reworked Diva Hall of Fame episodes but decided to cut it down to one. There seems to be a lack of appreciation for our work, and frankly, I'm not draining my bank account for folk's listening pleasure that refuse to support our efforts. The next release will be the long-overdue update for Kylie Minogue. It will be private and available only to those who've supported us since April — no matte...

The creation of this mix was akin to pulling teeth. I've mentioned in previous episodes that the dance music scene is going through some challenges this year, and there just hasn't been a lot of standout material. I'll save all the gritty details for our end-of-year round-up. What I will say is that despite being distracted by other issues (as I mentioned in yesterday's post), I had more than enough songs to create this set. The problem was that two-thirds of the tracks just weren't hitting the mark. There's so much mediocre to outright garbage music out there at any given time, making it difficult to be satisfied with the final result. I would finish the mix, only to start eliminating and replacing songs over the course of three weeks. It wasn't until last week that a flood of really good tracks dropped, allowing me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Then, yesterday, Pink Panda released a rework of the Martha Wash house classic "Catch the Light," transforming it into a supersonic, hyperactive powerhouse that just clicked. This track enabled me to rearrange some songs for a better overall flow of the set. Surprisingly, no one has jumped on this track yet, but they should. These powerhouse diva vocals are exactly what's missing in today's music, and there are flourishes of examples in this set. It seems that many DJs feel the same way and are starting to incorporate this style into their mixes, which excites us here at Party Favorz. Still, Summer Heat 2024 represents the absolute finest in Dance Club music at the moment, with a variety of genres represented throughout. If you missed our announcement yesterday, Party Favorz is once again fundraising to help cover our $300+ monthly costs. April's fundraiser lasted until early June, and since then, we've been covering expenses out of pocket. We really need small monthly donations, but we also welcome one-time contributions. All funds go directly into a dedicated account used specifically for our expenses. If you can help out, it would be greatly appreciated. We'll be back next week with the 2024 Summer Edition for the circuit boys. This is another area that's been lacking, but our good friend Mark from Dirty Disco just forwarded some upfront promos that aren't set for release until a later date, and they've completely blown us away. These tracks will be exclusive to Party Favorz. Until next time, ENJOY! There were two versions of this set with minor differences and the wrong one was initially uploaded. It's now been corrected. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm going to be honest: the entire dance music scene is in flux right now. Genre lines are blurring, creating chaos for DJs trying to curate balanced sets. While I'm adaptable, the rapid changes are working my last nerve. We've always avoided Dubstep and Drum & Bass due to their mixing challenges and overall intensity. Most listeners don't want an entire set of either genre. This left us with Tech House, Breaks, Bass House, and Techno as our primary sources for the Peak Hour series. Tech House used to be the glue that held all these sets together, but it's undergoing a similar transformation to Afro House—becoming more commercial and less dancefloor-oriented. The influx of Latin House and commercial tracks itno the genre makes finding genuine Tech House a daunting task. Some tracks now fit better in our Funky House series. The term "Melodic House and Techno" is misleading. These genres are vastly different. A prime example is "See You Sweat" by Max Styler and GENESI, a Techno-Tech House hybrid that's currently #1 on the Beatport Melodic House and Techno chart. I almost overlooked it because Melodic House doesn't typically fit our Peak Hour vibe. Breaks and Bass House have been particularly disappointing lately, offering little to work with. It's been a frustrating process. I've reworked this set three times, digging deep for the right tracks and cutting out what didn't work. While most of it is solid, the overall joy of creating these sets has diminished. I'm considering taking a break from this series and collecting tracks I love over the next several months for a future set as opposed to jumping right in and scooping up a bunch of great songs to include that just aren't there. The time commitment to curate a set while sifting through hundreds of weekly releases is unsustainable. Ultimately, I hope this set delivers. Please let me know your thoughts. Until the next time...ENJOY! Beach House 2024 has everything for House Music lovers, including straight-up House, Disco House, Latin House, Tech House, and Afro House, all seamlessly blended into a smoothie mix perfect for pool and beach parties. From the fabulous opening piano chords on the David Penn remix of "Our Love (80s)" by Yours to the sweat-inducing "Body Next To Mine" by Alex Adair and Bottom Up, this summer Funky House set hits all the right notes. A personal favorite is "Post That (Shit)" by Deon Cole and Terry Hunter. This track exudes a vogue vibe, beckoning listeners to post their poses to social media while enjoying a very Salsoul Records feel. The Chicago callout reminds us that the city is the birthplace of House Music. Mark Lower and Alexandra Prince give us a summery cocktail spin on "Paradise," a remake of the Sade classic. Tyshawn Colquitt remakes the disco classic "Spank" with DJ Spen adding a faithful garage mix, complete with horns. Armand Van Helden updates his early Millennium classic "My My My" with the uncredited Tara McDonald on vocals, creating another personal favorite. Meanwhile, Simon Fava, Yvvan Back & Cumbiafrica bring "The Heat" with their Latin Tech House track, which is currently topping many playlists. Another standout is "Move On Up" by Curtis Mayfield, with the incomparable Mark Knight performing remix duties. I didn't realize that the "Superfly" guy originally sang this song. Destination took it to #1 on the Disco charts in 1979, and Knight gives the original Soul/Funk version the Disco treatment, using Mayfield's original vocals. It's absolutely uplifting! DJ Ritmo Latino's "Ritmo Latino" is one of several Latin House songs included here that lend a salsa vibe laid over a house beat. Yvvan Back and Afterman deliver the Tech House track "Who's That Girl," which, with its Latin House delivery, belongs here more than on any Tech House set, where it's currently riding high. Finally, two other favorites are "Ain't Got No" by KPD and David Penn. The upbeat bounce of the song contrasts with the singer's declaration that she "ain't got nobody," a weird pairing that just works. Equally, Serge Funk's "Please Don't Leave" delivers a satisfying early 70s vibe laid over a Disco House beat that, contrary to the singer's plea, makes you elated and eager to dance. Believe it or not, I knocked out Beach House 2024 in one sitting, aiming for a carefree, open vibe to accompany the music, and it just melted together like butter! Beach House 2024 is your summer soundtrack to plain ole fun.
