McAnally's Pubcast - A Dresden Files PodcastWe discuss Chapter 41 where Madge invites an old buddy of Harry's to the sex cave of doom, Murphy break dances in a circle, and Thomas is dramatic.Blood Rites Chapter 41 Summary:Harry distracts Raith to allow Murphy to break the magic circle and partially free Thomas. Harry is able to disarm Madge and Raith before they can complete the Entropy spell and the summoning of He Who Walks Behind, and Madge is killed by the partially summoned demon. Harry taunts Raith into admitting he is close to powerless in front of a hiding Lara who decides to take advantage of this information and seizes power. Madge and Trixie are present as well but Trixie is thrown to her death in the cavern. Raith goes to investigate the sirens while Madge begins the entropy curse. While Madge is busy with the curse, Dresden and Murphy free themselves and make a plan. When Raith returns Dresden launches a surprise attack but Raith survives and kills all of the lights. Blood Rites Chapter 38 Summary:Murphy and Dresden ride her Harley towards the Deeps but are intercepted by a security vehicle.  Dresden uses his magic to decimate their opponents in the style of magical medieval jousting. The pair get to the area of the Deeps when Lord Raith ambushes them and takes Murphy and Dresden hostage.Blood Rites Chapter 39 Summary:Once inside the cave, Murphy attempts to strike at Raith but even in a weakened state, Lord Raith exercises complete control of Murphy and subdues her. Harry goes on to contract with Lara to help him find Thomas in exchange for her takeover of the White Court.Blood Rites Chapter 37 Summary:Murphy and Harry meet Lara at Chateau Raith along with Inari and Bobby who go to retrieve a just barely alive Justine. Justine is able to point out to them that Thomas is being kept in chains at the Deeps. The group is ambushed by one of the guards leaving Bobby and Inari out of commission. While Murphy and Kincaid try to disarm the bomb, Mavra presents herself and her little flame throwing friends. Blood Rites Chapter 33 Summary:The group is attacked by Mavra and her Thralls. Harry is able to save the group using his shield and then a wind spell to throw the fire from the flamethrowers back on the attackers, but at the expense of one of his hands. They finally defeat Mavra and rescue the children. In route to meet Kincaid in Cabrini-Green, Harry updates Murphy on the Black Court Vampires information from Bob. Once there, Murphy and Dresden go first to  meet Kincaid and prepare for the invasion. However, once Ebenezar comes with the truck, there is an immediate conflict between him and Kincaid.Blood Rites Chapter 30 Summary:Kincaid and Ebenezer standoff due to a history of bad blood. Dresden talks them down and convinces them to work together. Dresden flees the scene when he realizes that he looks like the shooter. Harry works through his anger and is able to have a proper talk where Harry learns they have something in common.
