#83: Anti-Woke Conversations with Curtis
Today I sat down with Curtis Korchinski, friend, entrepreneur, husband to Jordan and father to 2 amazing kids. Curtis shares his story of "coming out of the closet" , addiction, family and his views on the woke agenda. Growing up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and being the middle child between 2 amazing sisters, Curtis Korchinski felt the pressure of being groomed to take over the family business, along with marrying a nice Catholic girl to raise our children.  By Grade 9, he feared that would not be an ideal plan for himself and struggled with the societal influences that were prominently displayed throughout his upbringing, in the media and within their family. Curtis left home at 17 to figure life out, and found his home in the hospitality industry at age 19. After a few years of battling the internal demons he had created for himself. He finally came out and cleaned up his addictive behaviour. In 2003  Curtis met the true love of his life, Jordan. They started seeing each other shortly after and were married in February 2005.  Being adopted, Curtis always wanted to pay it forward so Jordan and himself eventually became fathers to 2 sons, while owning & operating 2 restaurants. My Mom's family is very musical, so I started a band with a close friend of  his (Amanda Hagel) in 2004 and have been playing gigs ever since, and in a few other local bands as well. His other hobby is competitive bodybuilding which he's been involved in since 2011. His career has shifted from hospitality to commercial real estate and he truly enjoys the company he works with and the clients he represents.  Curtis and Jordan are very fortunate to be fathers to their sons, and are very thankful for their health, and an amazing group of friends and family.
