One of the most interesting things about YouTube is the way it has allowed unknown creators to build their own followings. Chuckle Sandwich is a podcast that is an example of that phenomenon in real life. The show came to be as a result of two established YouTubers wanting to start a podcast. The title is a play on the schoolyard threat to give someone a "knuckle sandwich." This is the audio version of the YouTube video podcast.
Chuckle Sandwich has two hosts. Ted Nivison is a YouTuber who began uploading content to the platform in 2009. His early videos focused on gaming content. When he switched to doing more comedic videos, he was not getting the response he had hoped for. An appearance on a podcast with popular YouTuber CallMeCarson would change this. Nivison would soon begin to gain a large following on the platform. Today, he has a following of over 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube.
The other host of the podcast goes by JSchlatt (his first name is unknown). Schlatt came to prominence by making YouTube videos about popular game series. These include notable titles such as Minecraft and Cities: Skylines. Like Ted, he is a friend of CallMeCarson. He also has a YouTube channel that focuses on making gaming videos. Sometimes, he ventures outside of that topic as well. He also has over one million YouTube subscribers. Schlatt and Nivison started Chuckle Sandwich in 2021.
Chuckle Sandwich is loose and free-form in terms of its structure. Each episode has the hosts talking about whatever is on their minds that week. Sometimes, they will have a fan of the show on as a guest. Other times, Ted may be talking about a paranormal incident that happened to him. The only way for a listener to know what's going to happen on Chuckle Sandwich is to listen to it on a regular basis.
Chuckle Sandwich releases new episodes each week on Mondays.
