#03 - When Host Meets Wife: From A Supporters Lens
Headphones are recommended for the best listening experience. We hear and see through many different platform advocates bringing light and awareness to sensitive issues such as mental health, sexual abuse, and addiction. Fortunately, many courageous souls come forward to share their stories to normalize the battles and reduce the stigma, stories and struggles with mental health, addiction, and sexual abuse. Unfortunately, we don't hear enough of the accounts of those on the other side who provide voluntary support and aid to someone they love and care about who is dealing with mental health issues. Why is this important? It is essential to understand the challenges of providing such support and how to create a positive environment and the right support system for someone struggling with this decapitating issue. After all, outside therapy, most who struggle with mental health rely on family and friends for support. As a civilization, we are finally talking more about mental health, precisely what the world needs to fight stigma. There is a lot of information on understanding mental health and the steps one should take to provide the appropriate care. However, for some, the data can be overwhelming and scary. The last thing anyone wants to do is make things more difficult for someone dealing with mental health issues. Sometimes, just hearing stories and getting advice from those who know firsthand what it is like can also be great information to lean on.https://linktr.ee/Aaron.Mann.Sharma https://www.instagram.com/beneaththemaskpodcast/ https://www.beneaththemaskpodcast.com/ contact@beneaththemaskpodcast.com
