In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, PRess Play deviates from its typical structure in this special episode to tackle an issue that touches many but is often shrouded in silence: anxiety.
According to the Anxiety & Depression Association of America, anxiety disorders are the most common mental health concern in the US, affecting over 40 million adults, or 19.1% of the population. And, more than 60% of people do not seek treatment for their anxiety symptoms.
In light of these findings, Elena Krasnow is joined by guest co-host and founder of StreetCred PR Jason Lahita and Julie Johnson of XY Communication in this episode to talk about their personal journeys with anxiety, and how the industry at large can better support those who struggle with their mental health.
They discuss individual coping mechanisms and address broader systemic solutions financial institutions can implement to support mental health, underscoring the vital importance of understanding, patience and advocacy for oneself and others.
