Jim Young, initially courted by the Marines, chose instead to enlist in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman at the young age of 17. His military journey took him to Europe, where he patrolled the border between East and West Germany in 1987. Unfortunately, an injury from this tour quashed his aspiration to continue in the military. As a result of a medical board decision, he transitioned out of the Army at the end of 1988 and ventured onto a new path in civilian life.
Embracing hard work and manual labor, Jim initially began working in the heating and air conditioning industry. However, a desire to work independently soon gripped him. This led him to transform his love for music and electronics into a business opportunity. With determination in his heart and freshly printed business cards in hand, he ventured into the niche of building speakers. Fast forward 34 years, his electronics venture still thrives.
But Jim's entrepreneurial spirit didn't stop there. His second love, coffee, led him to launch the Salvation Coffee Company in 2018. Here, he and his family roast and serve award-winning coffee. The tale of how he persisted amidst the pandemic is a testament to resilience.
