We all have great intentions, right? If that’s true, then why do we forget them all the time? So many times when we set goals or implement a new policy or procedure, we get so focused on executing exactly what we’ve planned, and we forget why we decided to do it in the first place. While we like to think that goals and procedures are based on scientific data, specifically chosen to solve the exact problem we had, they’re not. They’re an experiment in a potential solution. They may be an educated experiment, but they’re still a wildly out of control experiment because we can’t control many of the variables.
