In this episode, we are joined by Jamillah Kinsey, a Dothan, AL native who is a testament to the power of housing authorities providing educational opportunities through their Resident Services Programs. Kinsey is a graduate of Fisk University, which is attributed to her hard work as well as numerous scholarships. One of the scholarships was granted through the Public Housing Authority Directors Association or PHADA scholar program more specifically the Bollinger Memorial Scholarship Award. This academic inspiration and songstress will give us some insight into her public housing journey, family dynamics, and what it takes to maintain focus despite her surroundings.
