Our Editor's Take

Witnessed is a series of true crime podcasts with great storytelling. Each season of the series features crimes and killings that sound like something out of a movie. But they all really happened. Each season has a different host who is also a reporter. That adds to the storytelling for these episodes.

The first podcast season of Witnessed was Witnessed: Borderlands . The story sounds like a real-life No Country for Old Men. Rob D'Amico narrated this Texas tale about a sheriff teaming up with a drug smuggler for nefarious reasons.

In WItnessed: Friendly Fire, a Tennessee sheriff is shot and killed. Dying in the line of the duty happens to law enforcement. What sets this story apart is that the officer was killed by his own partner. This second season of the podcast features the sheriff's wife searching for justice. Sean Flynn hosts.

Katie and Leah Henoch hosted Witnessed: Mystic Mother. The third season of the podcast discussed the Phoenix Goddess Temple. Was it a church-or a front for prostitution? This series explains what happened.

In Witnessed: Devil in the Ditch, the fourth season of the podcast, things get personal.

Journalist and host Larrison Campbell investigates a murder. In this case, the victim was Campbell's 85-year-old grandmother, Presh. The case has been open and unresolved for several decades.

One of the most interesting features of this podcast is also one of its most harrowing ones. It is not common to see someone investigating the murder of their grandmother. Campbell's dedication to discovering the truth makes this podcast all the more compelling. This case isn't only a mystery for her to solve. She wants justice for her family and to finish what the cops could or would not.

Witnessed sees Campbell navigating various aspects of this case. She talks to witnesses and tries to uncover as much information as possible. The case is several decades old, which means many of the people involved are now dead. Additionally, several of the living ones prove to have issues with their memories

No matter what the topic, the Witnessed podcast has captivating investigations searching for truth and justice. New episodes drop on a periodic basis.
