Kim is a master of all things municipal politics in Ontario and she chat's with Ellected's host, Sarah Elder-Chamanara, about the difference of getting things done versus being partisan which, spoiler alert, you can get more done with people who aren't on your side because it leads to collaboration. Kim and Sarah also talk about the pace of municipal politics, how almost everything is municipal politics and round it all Kim's advice on how to be the one media calls on for political commentary and finally some thoughts on the federal Conservative leadership race.

More about Kim Wright:
Since 2005, Kim Wright has provided senior public affairs counsel to national and international clients across multiple industries. Kim has engaged in public affairs campaigns across Canada at all three orders of government. Leveraging her deep knowledge of politics and public affairs, she founded Wright Strategies in 2018.

Kim has built and executed successful public affairs engagements on a wide range of issues including public health, infrastructure, technology, economic development, transportation, labour relations, and licensing frameworks. She has successfully managed various aspects of development files, changes to municipal by-laws and policies, and has overseen procurement response programs.

Kim is best known as a municipal affairs expert; however, her expertise is not limited to one level of government and frequently navigates complex interjurisdictional files. She has been involved in politics at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels since 1990. Throughout her career, she has developed a well respected, pan-partisan approach to government relations that allows her and her clients to achieve a trusted advisor status.

Kim is a frequent media commentator on political issues. She regularly appears on the CBC, TVO, CityNews, CP24, Global News, Zoomer Radio, SiriusXM, Toronto Star, and CPAC.
