When it comes to hate speech - where is the line?

New Zealand's hate speech laws have taken centre stage this week as the controversial anti-trans-rights activist, Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull, better known as Posie Parker, plans to hold rallies in Auckland and Wellington over the weekend.

However, Parker's visit has sparked a heated debate, with many arguing she should not be allowed into the country, as she could incite violence.

Posie Parker has gained notoriety for her outspoken views, which many consider being transphobic.

Her rallies, planned for Saturday and Sunday, are expected to draw significant crowds, with counter-protests already organised in response.

The issue of hate speech has once again come to the fore, with many questioning where the line should be drawn.

To shed some light on the matter, Lloyd Burr spoke to Dylan Asafo, a senior law lecturer at the University of Auckland, on Friday afternoon.
