I always say that autoimmune Alopecia (Alopecia Areata, Totalis and Universalis) is not truly a dermatological condition. There are various types and causes of hair loss. While some of them are dermatological cases, autoimmune Alopecia is just one form of an immune system malfunction. Here's why I think it's important to not only think about Alopecia Areata as a hair or skin condition.
