Episode Twenty: Birgitta MacLeod

Art Waves

11-10-2022 • 31 mins

Birgitta MacLeod is an artist and co-owner of META4 Contemporary Craft Gallery. Birgitta knows how important art is to the quality and vibrancy of a community. Birgitta explains how META4 Gallery came to be out of a need for local art outside of the studio tour season, along with how artists and their works get featured in the space based on the gallery's clientele and customers. Birgitta and Marion discuss the value of art beyond the price tag and how the gallery strives to educate people about the work that goes into each piece. Birgitta also briefly describes the cyclical nature of art and touches on a handful of META4 artists. Thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for making this podcast possible!
