Let's Get Dressed

27-01-2020 • 57 mins

GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and performer Maggie Rogers joins us to discuss her journey from a small town singer/songwriter to global pop stardom. Just three years ago, Maggie performed her NYU senior thesis, which we now know and love as her hit song “Alaska” for Pharrell during a master class, and the video went viral. The Maryland-born artist signed with Capitol Records and has since released an EP, Now That The Light Is Fading, and last year she debuted her first record, Heard It In A Past Life. The album landed at #2 on the Billboard charts, and the record’s tour included headliner stops at Coachella and Lollapalooza, two nights at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, and a performance on SNL. She’s received praise from the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, and Vogue, was placed on the TIME 100 NEXT 2019 List, the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and just received her first GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist. Maggie’s songs have surpassed 650 million streams globally, and her music has built a cult following of loyal fans who she says if they weren't her fans, they’d be “people she’d be at the same house party as.” In this episode, Maggie talks about finding life after touring, gives us her masterclass on navigating the entertainment industry, and why her next business move might not be what we think.
